DropAnything

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DropAnything ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you use this website at dropanything.xyz. DropAnything is operated by iCoCo Associates Limited. We have designed the service so that, as far as possible, we never take custody of your files in the first place.

Your files are never uploaded to us

DropAnything transfers files directly between your two devices using a peer-to-peer connection (WebRTC). Your photos, videos and other files are not uploaded to, processed by, or stored on any server we control. We do not receive, see, or keep copies of what you send, and there is nothing for us to retain after a transfer ends.

How the connection is made (signalling and relays)

To connect your two devices, a small signalling service helps them find each other and exchange the technical information needed to open a direct link. This exchange carries connection details only - it does not carry your files.

When your two devices cannot open a direct connection (for example when one is on a restrictive mobile or corporate network), the transfer falls back to a relay server (a TURN service) that passes the encrypted data along so the transfer can complete. The relay forwards packets in transit; it is not designed to store your files, and we do not keep them. These signalling and relay services are provided by third parties, which process the connection data solely to route the transfer.

Information we collect

The core transfer tool does not require an account and does not ask you for personal information. We do not build user profiles. Standard, non-identifying technical data - such as your browser type, approximate region, and request logs - may be processed by our hosting and content-delivery providers to serve the page reliably and to protect against abuse. This is ordinary server-log information common to virtually all websites.

Third-party services we rely on

To keep the tool free and simple, the page uses a few reputable third-party services: a static web host to serve the site, content-delivery networks to load the open-source libraries the tool needs, a signalling service and a relay service to establish connections (described above), and - where enabled - Google AdSense for advertising. Each provider processes only the limited data needed for its function and under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and advertising

We may use display advertising to support the site. Where advertising is enabled:

Analytics

If website analytics are enabled, they help us understand aggregate, anonymised usage (such as page views) so we can improve the site. They are not used to identify you personally.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Your rights and choices

Because the transfer tool does not collect personal data or require an account, we hold little to no personal information about you. Where data-protection law (such as UK GDPR) gives you rights - including access, correction, deletion, or objection to processing - you can exercise them by emailing us and we will respond. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and manage ad personalisation using the links above. Closing the page ends any active transfer connection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
