Send photos, videos & files between any two devices - free, no app

A browser-based transfer tool and AirDrop alternative for Windows and Android. Move photos, videos, music and PDFs between iPhone, Android and PC at full original quality - no app, no sign-up, no size limit. Files go straight device-to-device and never touch a server.

How it works

Open DropAnything on both devices. On the sender, choose your files and tap Create pairing link - you'll get a QR code and a 6-digit code. On the other device, scan the QR (or type the code) and the files stream directly between the two browsers. The QR only pairs the devices; the files themselves travel over a direct connection (WebRTC), so nothing is uploaded to a server and quality is untouched.

Why DropAnything instead of the alternatives

Most transfer tools leave a gap - a cap, an app, an account, or a quality hit. DropAnything closes those gaps on every platform, including iPhone and Android:

What you can transfer

DropAnything is not just for photos. You can send videos of any length, music files, PDFs and other documents, ZIP archives and more - any file type, in either direction. iPhone photos in Apple's HEIC format are converted to standard JPG as they transfer, so they open on Windows and Android without extra software. There is no fixed size limit: the only real constraint is how much free space the receiving device has. And once two devices are connected you can also beam a piece of text or a link across, a quick way to move a long web address from your phone to your computer.

Is it private and safe?

Yes. The whole design is built around not taking custody of your files. When you pair two devices, the files travel directly from one to the other over an encrypted connection - they are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. There are no accounts and no tracking of what you send. When a direct connection is not possible between two networks, the data is passed through a secure relay purely to complete the transfer, and nothing is kept afterwards. There is more detail on the privacy page.

Same Wi-Fi or across the internet

If both devices are on the same Wi-Fi they connect directly and transfer at local network speed, which is fastest for large videos. If they are on different networks - say a phone on mobile data and a laptop on home broadband - the transfer still works, because the pairing happens over the internet rather than over Bluetooth or a local-only link. That also means the two devices do not need to be physically near each other, unlike AirDrop.
